Subsidized Fitness Studio Memberships
Being physically active contributes to a healthy lifestyle! The Richmond Hill Mobility Accessibility Foundation, together with the Town of Richmond Hill’s Community Services Department, is proud to offer subsidized gym memberships to persons with disabilities who live in Richmond Hill. The cost to the applicant is $45 for a 6-month fitness and/or aqua membership, and RH Mobility covers the remainder of the membership fee!
RH Mobility has also funded accessible exercise equipment, which is housed at the Ed Sackfield Fitness Center for residents to enjoy, including a MotoMed Arm and Leg Exerciser and an Uppertone machine. We have also funded change tables, hoyer lifts and waterproof wheelchairs at other Richmond Hill Community Centers to help improve accessibility at these facilities.

RH Mobility is consistently working with the Town of Richmond Hill to ensure that town facilities are leaders in accessibility. Just recently, we ordered a new chair to replace the electric chair used to assist persons with disabilities in and out of the water at one of the local recreation facilities.
